U.S. Street Nationals Kicks Off The 2021 Season!
/Just days from now at this point, we are set to kick off the 2021 heads-up drag racing season in Bradenton Florida. A staple of the drag racing world for years, USSN is the event that launches us into a new season of heads-up drag racing.
In the drag racing industry, we all talk about special events, events that we love going to, and bring us an unbelievable amount of excitement and enjoyment. We are just a few days away from one of those events happening in Bradenton Florida. The U.S. Street Nationals at BMP is the first sign that the drag racing season is upon us and it’s time to get back at it.
If you have never been to Bradenton, Fl., or more specifically the U.S. Street Nationals, you are really missing out. Some people are locked up inside over the winter months, and this is their first chance to see and feel the warmth that is Florida in January. Imagine being a kid like me years ago and leaving the frozen grounds of Wisconsin winter, only to land in Florida and feel the sunshine on my face in the middle of winter. That’s just one of the reasons that this race is such a big deal. For me personally, it’s the days leading up to the event that I get overwhelmed by.
I am fortunate enough to end my photography season in Florida at BMP during Snowbirds, a little over a month later I get to kick off my season at the same track, and it such an amazing event. This year will is already showing all of us that we are ready to go back to some normalcy, and the sooner we can be back at the race track, the sooner it feels normal to us.
For those of you that have never been to the U.S. Street Nationals before and want to know what it’s all about, you are in for a treat. When I tell you that this is the race that kicks off the heads up drag racing season, that might be an understatement of epic proportions. Are you a fan of loud, ground-pounding blowers, huge nitrous purges, wheelstands, spooling turbos, big tire slick cars, and the quickest radial cars in the world? Are you a fan of burning rubber, big smokey burnouts, and pure unharnessed power? If you answered yes to those questions then you need to be in Bradenton next week.
Pro Mods, Pro Mods, Pro Mods, will headline the event, but not to be outdone, Radial vs. The World, will be gunning for that first-ever 3.40’s pass as well. Along with the two big guns battling it out for absolute doorslammer supremacy, the season kicks off for X275, Ultra Street, Limited Drag Radial, Pro 275, Outlaw 632, Heavy Street, N/T Shootout, and Open Comp along with 5.50, 6.50, & 7.50 Indexes.
This is really an event that you won’t want to miss. The racing action is going to be something that we all need and great entertainment for the entire family!!
