What has seemed like forever trying to get our schedules worked out so I could see this beauty, finally came to fruition this week in Jackson, TN. For months, Marty and I have discussed doing a photo shoot of his beautiful new N/T Vette and when he messaged me on Tuesday I told him I’d be there on Wednesday to snagged some photos of it.
If you follow Pro Mod on a regular basis, you will most likely think that it’s just a bunch of new or old Camaro bodies toss on some tubing. Now, if you are more than a casual fan, and watch series like Mid-West Pro Mod, PDRA, or NMCA, you will see a much larger variety of high performing hotrods that don’t fit that mold. Brian Lewis’s ‘41 Willys fits the bill.
There comes a time in the universe, not as often as one would think, that two stars collide. Instead of the stars shining brightly on their own, they become one new, bright star, called a Blue Straggler. This is exactly what happened when the stars of Haley James, and her fiancé Kieffer Simpson collided.
We all suffer loss and go through tribulations in life. For some of us we all that to define who we are and who we decide to become. Certain situations allow adversity to drag us down and never see the potential we have. What I just described is the exact opposite of what Justin Harris has chosen to do with his life.
In my line of work, it is very easy to get bored by what you see. Most days we are faced with looking at another boring ass 2020 or 1969 Pro Mod’ish Camaro. So when I had that opportunity to highlight something unique, like William’s Mazda Rx7, I jumped at the chance.
It is not often that you run across something that is just different in drag racing. A setup that catches your eye and piques your interest. This is exactly what happened when we decided to shoot Greg’s beautiful Camaro at Lights Out 12 this year.
Rarely do we come across a car that is so beautifully crafted in an old school manner. This happens to be one of those rare occasions where everything came together perfectly.
For some people, the car scene and the grind of the custom cars, whether that be drag racing or car shows is nothing more than a short fad. This is not the case with Mark Glomb and his ‘74 Vega Wagon. As he discusses with David during this interview, Mark has always seemingly had the car bug, and it’s just as strong today as it was 25 years ago.
For more than a century now, individualism has been the utmost staple within the motorsports community. The idea that you can take your car and make it your own, mold and craft it to fit your personality. It is that exact individualism that sets Chris Day, better known to some as Kamakize Chris from the wildly popular Street Outlaws apart from the rest of the crowd.
There are very few people within the no prep world that walk softly and carry a big stick more than Michael Henson and his Plan B racing team. From being a small engine shop builder, to being on TV, to being a well respected drag racer, Michael Henson is certainly not a one trick pony.
They say that everything is bigger in Texas and I think that might just include doses of Karma, which is exactly what X275 driver Rebecca Stuart’s Mustang has been aptly named.
During David and I adventures across this great land earlier in the month, we made it a priority to stop and see a great racer and friend. She is none other than the Queen of the Coast, Capri Wesley. Also, someone to speak her mind, she might not seem very intimidating, but you can bet that she will bust your ass on the track if you are in the lane next to her.
There comes a time in drag racing when a car enters the scene and everyone sits back and says “DAMN”, that is exactly what happened when “Gotti” emerged last season.
We live in a media world where everyone is in a rush to get those page views and clicks while forgetting that the actual content matters. I was fortunate enough to go to the Reese Brothers shop in Temple, GA with my friend and fellow photographer Courtney Paulshock of CPaulshock Photography and capture the beauty of the car everyone is talking about.
As the one and only Rodney Dangerfield would say. “I get no respect”, and that’s about what it seems like for X275’s John Keesey.
Pocket Rocket is the best way that I can personally describe the McCain Family N/T hotrod named Bowser.
So many people with the drag racing world would have hung up their racing boots after suffering a loss like Mark Dykeman did last year…
I had the opportunity to speak at length with Kenny Hubbard today regarding his switch from nitrous, to the new ProCharger combination in his Nova, along with discussing X275 and the future of the class.
There are Legends, there are Icons, and then there are those that are The Guy, well I think most will agree that Nick Agostino is The Guy.
At E3xtreme we make an effort to bring you news and features that aren’t just regurgitate items that everyone else already addressed, and this week at Orlando Speedworld was one of those opportunities.
Story and Photos by Justin Frank, E3xtreme Staff Photographer
Recently I had the pleasure of meeting Mike James and photographing his awesome Procharged 1995 F150 Lightning. Now to be a little honest I fanboy'd a little bit. You see I've known of Mike and his Lightning for almost a decade now as we travel in similar circles.
We have all experienced nostalgia at some point in time in our lives. It doesn't whether it's a song that takes you back to your junior prom & the girl with the curly brown hair or a toy from your childhood that reminds you of the kid down the street. Even the smell that reminds you of spending time with your dad out in the garage. But what about a car, can a car give you nostalgia?
What you see here is what most in the Mustang community would call a must have. This is Joe's brand new 2016 Mustang GT350. To call this a car would be a disgrace. What we actually see here is a piece of art and E3xtreme was lucky enough to be with Joe the day he took delivery of the car
Jeff Smith is what most refer to as a Crazy Car Nut. That's because what you see here is a a 1 of 281 Competition Orange 2004 Mustang Cobras built. What some may think is an outrage to race what could be deemed a rare car, is a dream come true to others.
We in the drag racing community like to tout that it is a family affair. The stories of fathers and sons building cars in the garage together and going out racing on the weekends. The Jackson family has shown the world that these aren’t just far fetched stories or myths, it’s a way of like for this father and son duo.
