Rickie Smith looking for someone to step up in 2018

With all the silly season in NHRA the last week or so, there has been news out of the pro mod camps as well. This time, it's out of the Rickie Smith camp.

We have learned through sources that one of the greatest door car driver in the history of our sport is without a primary sponsor for the 2018 season. Rickie, who was previously backed by Vallen, who is a leading distributor of indirect materials and stocks only best-in-class metalworking and MROP products, has made the decision not to come back in 2018.

What this means is that Rickie, along with Majestic  Sports Marketing, are working hard to make sure that his Musi Powered, nitrous huffing Camaro will be ready to go with financial backing for the 2018 season.  This isn't a case of a driver not winning. We saw that Rickie still has exactly what it takes to win yet another Championship.

Rickie, even after missing multiple races due to surgery, was still able to finish in the top ten at number 9 in points.  Rickie, after the time off came back and took a huge win at the legendary Englishtown race. With the new rules in place for next season, we are sure that as long as Rickie has the backing, he and his Crew Chief and right hand man Chad Hester will be there with their A game.
