Alexis DeJoria Advances to Final Elimination Quad at Las Vegas

Alexis DeJoria, a two-time Las Vegas event winner, was hoping to hit the jackpot at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals and score her first four-wide triumph on Sunday afternoon. The six-time Funny Car winner started race day from the No. 10 seed and parlayed her 3.958-second qualifying time to a semifinal finish by advancing to the final elimination quad.

It is amazing that in all the years of NHRA drag racing that we have never had a female World Champion in Nitro Funny Car. We have see it in Top Fuel and Pro Stock, but never Funny Car. Alexis is on a quest to change that stat and be the first woman ever to wear the title at the end of the season.
