Summit Motorsports Park (Aka Norwalk) Suspends 2020 Operations It Appears

In what is an unbelievable blow to the drag racing industry, it appears as though Norwalk will cease operations for the 2020 season.

While all the details will not be known until this Wednesday when a formal announcement from the Bader family is made, what is known is that Bill has stated that they have already lost approximately 83% of current and planned revenue for the 2020 calendar year. That is a huge monetary hurdle to overcome.

Bill stated via the Summit Motorsports Park Facebook page that he is in the process of contacting those that were needing to know before ahead of an announcement, and was disappointed that some had to find out due to a leak of information that another outlet ran with.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of intelligent governing across this country, it is forcing business owners like the Bader family to have to close their doors temporarily. What the state, local, and federal government is doing, or not doing in my opinion is a gross injustice to our sport and our industry as a whole. We at E3xtreme wish Bill, Evan, and the entire Bader family, along with the entire Summit Motorsports Park family nothing but the best. Norwalk is one of the best facilities in the country, and the irrational and uneducated ignorance of elected officials is the reason that this is happening.

When a formal announcement is made by Bill and the Bader family regarding all the details surrounding this we will make sure to bring that to you as well.
