NMRA & NMCA roll into Joliet to fight for the Rings!
/The time has come for the NMRA and NMCA to invade the upper midwest and show everyone how racing during the summertime is done. We will see hundreds of cars fighting it our for summer supremacy.
This is the second of two joint events that Promedia holds every season. The first of which is in Atlanta back in April. In July, they pull into one of the nicest tracks in the country, located just outside Chicago in Joliet, Il. It is the Route 66 Raceway, where records are set and there is plenty of room for everyone.
If you haven't been to Joliet for one of these events, I would really encourage you to go. There is really a class for damn near anyone. Everything from brackets, to radial cars, to pro mods will be on the property. I personally have raced this event on multiple occasions and can tell you this, you will learn real quick what midwest summer racing is all about.
Pro Mod points leader Adam Flamholc is already in the area setting up his new rig and getting ready to keep that points lead in tact. He is less than one round ahead of pro mod driver and Illinois based racer Steve Summers, so it will be a great to see both fight it out for every point they can gather.
Another thing that everyone will be watching is the change to Xtreme Street in NMCA. This class, which had been a staple of the NMCA for as long as I can remember, recently had an overhaul and will be running 1/8th mile going forward. We previously discussed that in another article (Click Here) , and tossed around the idea of this being a good or bad. If, and I say this with bated breath, if the Ultra Street style racers from the midwest show up to the event, Xtreme Street could blow this event's doors right off. So make sure you are in the stands to see this happen.
On the NMRA side of things, it seems like there isn't a class that doesn't have a tight points race. It appears as though that just about every class is separated by less than one round of racing. Take a look at Coyote Stock and you will see that "Shifty" Shane Stymiest only holds a 25 point lead over the Kentucky Krazy One Jacob Lamb. In NMRA's top class, Street Outlaw, Charlie Cooper holds a 195 point lead over Manny Boom Boom Buginga.
There is so much action that there is no way I can sum it all up in just this one article. We at E3xtreme will be on the property this weekend covering the actions. Our amazing sponsors have come on board with our coverage of the event and we will bring you updates all weekend on the website, along with our social media outlets.
