Paramount Performance sets a New World Record in Queensland, Australia

We received word over the weekend that a specific world record in the LS based community had been broken, and it was broken by Terry and Anita Seng. Below I have laid out the information that was sent over in regards to what we believe is one hell of an accomplishment.

For those of you who don't know, Terry's VC Commodore is currently the World's Quickest and Fastest Factory Block and Headed LS with a 7.37 seconds @ 187 MPH quarter mile time. With that World Record under his belt, the outright Factory block LS World Record of 6.866 @205 MPH held by Mike Moran was firmly in his sights when the Commodore engine was transplanted into the lighter purpose built racing 55 Chev of Les Winters.

"New Car" bugs gave the Paramount Performance team some trouble at the car's first meeting in early June leaving the record safe for a little longer. More late nights got things sorted, and Saturday July 8th's QDRC meeting gave the team their next opportunity to chase that 6.866 second time.

"After doing some suspension changes and finally having the time to corner weight the Chev, we were really happy with the half track time on our first pass, we knew our goal was within sight. So for the next pass the team said 'Let's send it!'" says Terry.  And the result was a new World Record for a Factory 4 bolts LS and a new Australian record for an LS of any configuration! A 6.733 @ 199.94 MPH

"We can still make some improvements from the data we collected. We'll keep working on it and see where we end up!" Terry explains.

Maybe that 205 MPH record will be next in the Paramount Performance team's sights at their next outing, the Brisbane Jamboree at Willowbank Raceway on August 26th & 27th.
