That's right folks, the North vs. South event was a must not miss event like I had said before, but the fact is that I was 100% right about it. This was a spectacular event put on at a spectacular venue.

Maryland International Raceway, or as most of us still call it, MIR, was set up to see numbers ran and a great event happen. What we got were amazing side by side races, jaw dropping times, first time winners, and a door car beating a jet car.

Pro Extreme, for the first time this year, saw an 8 car field. This was a field full of heavy hitters. Guys like John Stanley, Q80's new Camaro, Leggitt, Scruggs, and more. Anyone at anytime can run a number and take the 660Man home with them. To a lot of people surprise it was Wesley B. Jones that took home the win this weekend in Pro Extreme. Wesley beat Terry Leggitt on a holeshot 3.60 to Terry's 3.55. This is the exact reason that we don't race on paper. You never know what will happen.

In a battle of the young guns, we got to see Tylor Miller in the PeeDee Fleet backed Pro Boost car take out Ty Tutterow in the Galot backed blower car. There was a lot of anticipation for this final since we were going to see two of the young up and coming pro mod stars square off against each other. This one was done before it started though, as Ty went red and handed young Tylor his first ever PDRA Pro Mod win with his parents DeeDee and Russell along with his sister Brooke, and the rest of the team by his side. The times were near identical for the two as well. Tylor had a 3.700 to Ty's 3.702, so as you can see, this was going to be a tree race to begin with. With the win, it moved Tylor into a dead heat tie for 3rd in points, with none other than Ty Tutterow.

In Pro Nitrous, we saw last years World Champion Tommy Franklin, face off against one of the toughest and most dedicated Pro Nitrous drivers we have ever seen in Jay Cox and the car known as Pumpkin. This was a showcase of true polar opposites. On one side, you have the quieter and more reserved Tommy Franklin with his Musi powered Camaro, and on the other side we see the outspoken and boisterous Jay Cox in his Buck powered Camaro. This race was one for the ages with Jay edging out Tommy 3.681 to Tommy's 3.691. To make this season even more interesting, the win puts Jay 6 points ahead of Tommy in the standings, with four races left in the season.

Two of the truly heavy hitters in the Extreme Pro Stock world clashed in the final as well at the North vs. South event. If you think about it, this was a true North vs. South final. Cary being the Oklahoma boy vs Trevor Eman in the Aruba backed car. It was all about Cary this go around though. Cary dropped the hammer and lit the boards with a 4.053 to Trevor's 4.060.

Pro Extreme Motorcycle showed that once again, the former World Champion Eric McKinney is always a force to be dealt with. Eric apparently got married the week of the race and decided that he would take his bike and square off against Travis Davis in the finals. A finals that made history as the first side by side 3 second passes in the class. It wasn't the former World Champion taking the win though. This time it was Travis Davis and his 3.987 over Eric's 3.995. The win puts Travis 199 points ahead of Eric with four races left in the season.
