Alex Laughlin & Gas Monkey Energy looking to go back to back
/After an amazing weekend in Bristol that included taking the Wally home to Texas, Alex Laughlin and the team are looking to back that up this weekend in Norwalk.
Those that follow NHRA Pro Stock may have noticed that Alex hasn't been out in the Gas Monkey Energy car this season as much. Alex has also been piloting the Gas Monkey Energy Alcohol Dragster as well this season, including running both of them at certain events, like this weekend at Norwalk.
Alex moved to Team Elite power in the off season after previously using Gray Motorsports power. This has played out between Alex and the youngest Pro Stock winner, Tanner Gray at the top end, in interviews, and on social media. Tanner wasn't happy with Alex leaving and going to Elite. Last weekend it was Alex getting the best of Tanner, when Tanner lit the reds against Alex in the semi finals. Tanner went a .001 red against Alex, so you knew he was amp'd up for that face off.
Alex went on to face off against Bo Butner and his KB powered Camaro last weekend. For the first time this season though, it was Alex taking the win. He busted a trip zip perfect light against Bo in the finals to nab the victory. The victory left Alex at #13 in the points this season. After the final Alex stated that since they won they would also be running the Pro Stock car in Norwalk.
It will be interesting to see if Alex can carry his Bristol momentum into Norwalk with a chance to take home two more Wallys this weekend. I am sure that Alex will have that Elite power pushing as hard as possible to make it happen!
