Exclusive E3xtreme Feature: Marty Stinnett's N/T Corvette

What has seemed like forever trying to get our schedules worked out so I could see this beauty, finally came to fruition this week in Jackson, TN. For months, Marty and I have discussed doing a photo shoot of his beautiful new N/T Vette and when he messaged me on Tuesday I told him I’d be there on Wednesday to snagged some photos of it.

I headed over to Jackson, TN yesterday, more specifically Jackson Dragway, where Marty, along with his friend and tuner Wade Hopkins from Southern Speed Racing were on their second day of working to get the car lined out. As you’ll notice, this isn’t a typical reveal if you will. I spent the day with the two of them learning about the build, the in’s and out’s of the car, and the plans with the car.

While most of you know Marty from his time in the turbo powered Mustang, what you may not know is that back in the day Marty used to be an avoid motocross rider and moved on to be a successful heavy wrecker owner & operator. In-between running a successful business and going racing, he and his wife spend time raising their 16 year old and 11 year old kids.

The beautiful Corvette that you see here is one that was built by Teddy Houser at Teddy Houser Race Cars in North Carolina. The car was originally being built for another party that decided to go another direction, so this gave Marty the opportunity to get into this. A decision was made earlier in the year that the combo in the Mustang had gone about as far as it was going to go, and to be competitive moving forward, it was going to have to be a bigger engine and updated equipment.

As you can see, the car sports a 275 radial tire. Marty, who has long been in the radial tire game, along with his tuner Wade, made the decision that the Vette would be Pro 275 legal and competitive right from the get on this build. While it is legal for Pro 275, Marty has made the decision for the time being to dip his toes into the No Time game. There are plenty of places for 275 tire cars to race No Time, especially in the south, and that’s where Marty is based out of.

There has been a lot of thought, time, and care put into this build. Equipment from Procharger, MBE, FuelTech, Santhuff, Weld, M&M, and so much more. I literally spent 5 hours drooling over this car and the care that went into making everything as beautiful as it looks. I asked Marty what color green it was and he wasn’t sure on the name, but he told me that when he spoke to the painter he said that he wanted bright lime green. I thanked him over and over for the color choice since it will make photographing it at night that much easier. The sound of this engine, with zoomies and a Procharger is something to behold. I have posted a few videos on our social media channels as well.

Since it’s a N/T car, I’ve decided not to put all the details out there, and once Marty decides to come back to the heads up, boards on, side of racing we will delve into that a little further. Just know, in short time, he and Wade will have this car all sorted out and be playing with the big boys of the No Time world. And yes, I will certainly do a follow up and maybe even have Marty on the Scorched Podcast.

I want to thank Marty and Wade along with Jackson Dragway for letting me come out yesterday, hang out, and try to convey to you in photos just exactly how beautiful this Corvette really is.
