Pilgrim Continues To Hold NPK Fans & Drivers Hostage To Their Whims

Well, another day has come and yet another “reschedule” from the fine people running the NPK series. Another day where they get to hold on to hard-working people’s money while continuing to hold on to fans money.

We all know that I am not a huge fan most of the time when it comes to NPK, but this has gotten to the point of ridiculousness in my mind. The company behind shows like NPK, Fastest in America, all the Street Outlaw series, etc. is called Pilgrim Media Group (https://www.pilgrimmediagroup.com/) and is a company owned by Lionsgate (https://www.lionsgate.com/) which is known for movies like the John Wick trilogy. So yes, the precious no prep and street racing shows are produced by the same Hollywood companies everyone complains about on social media.

Now I am all for making sure that people are safe, but it has become quite apparent to me that Pilgrim is just another California-based production studio that doesn’t give two shits about the hard-working people that support their products. Every time I see that another one of these events is “rescheduled” I can’t help but laugh and be angered at the same time. And do you know why they just label these events as “rescheduled” or “postponed”? The sole reason behind that is so they don’t have to issue refunds to the thousands, if not tens of thousands of people that preordered tickets for the event.

Oh, you didn’t know? Well, you certainly didn’t read that wrong. Here is what it says:

This event is being filmed for a television show entitled Street Outlaws No Prep Kings. You might be featured on the television show and agree that Pilgrim Media Group, Discovery Communications, Lickety Split and all entities involved in the filming can utilize your likeness and image. You also agree that there will be NO REFUNDS on ticket purchases if the event dates are changed based on any factor, including weather and production delays. The show must go on and the production will be filmed and completed at the earliest available time frame. Again, there are NO REFUNDS and there will be no exceptions. Please see refund policy for more details.

If you want to read more about their ticketing policy, here is the link to it REFUND POLICY. That means they have been holding money of hard-working, paycheck to paycheck fans for over a year now, all while using the disguise and excuse of covid to continue to screw people over.

If you read further, you will see Lickety Split LLC is listed all over the place on the ticketing and merchandise for these events also. In case you were wondering, Lickety Split LLC is listed as an Events and Promotion company based in California. Guess who the single-member LLC is owned by, none other than Craig Piligian, who also happens to be the President and CEO of Pilgrim Films & Television. As you can imagine, Mr. Piligian’s not worried about his own pocketbook or being about to pay his bills, but the customers that purchase these tickets ranging in price from $50+ per person for the weekend are expected to just show up whenever Craig and his company believe it’s convenient for them to finally host the event.

What I find incredibly insulting to the fanbase of not only NPK, but to drag racing as a whole is that these California based entities want to hide behind Covid, yet we have seen great crowds at NHRA events, U.S. Street Nationals, Lights Out, and numerous other events already in the first four months of 2021. There is absolutely no reason that events could not be held in Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Arizona, Idaho, South Carolina, and numerous other states.

Don’t insult our intelligence when it comes to “public safety” or whatever excuse that you want to use. For months and months, the same studio that has been telling you that it isn’t safe for fans to go to the races has been having huge groups of racers gather to film television shows. Let’s take for example the fact that the NPK Palm Beach race has gotten “rescheduled”. Now unless you are living under a rock, you are well aware that Florida is 100% open for business, yet Pilgrim hides behind the veil of Covid and public safety.

What Pilgrim is doing is not only screwing over the fans that spend money to come to see their favorite racers, but they are screwing over the racers. They just expect these racers and teams to drop everything and move their scheduling around to accommodate filming when Pilgrim wants it to happen. Could you imagine if NHRA did the same to their fans and drivers?

My strong suggestion to Pilgrim and Lionsgate is that you either start holding events, or you refund these hardworking fans their money upon request.
