Pep Boys To Host NHRA Top Fuel Pilot Mike Salinas At New Store Opening

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 27, 2022) - NHRA Top Fuel driver Mike Salinas will once again showcase a special Pep Boys livery on his dragster for the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals this weekend. To celebrate this ongoing partnership, Pep Boys, one of the nation’s leading automotive service networks, is hosting a special signing event for Salinas at the new Pep Boys facility in Fort Mills, S.C. this Thursday as part of the store’s grand opening festivities.

Not only will Salinas be present to sign autographs and interact with Pep Boys patrons, but his 11,000 horsepower Scrappers Racing Top Fuel dragster will also be on display for an up-close-and-personal viewing.

“This is a great opportunity to meet the fans and support Pep Boys at the same time,” said Salinas. “We are ready to put on a good show at zMAX this weekend with that good-looking Pep Boys logo on the side of the dragster as we duke it out Four-Wide style.”

Pep Boys Auto Service & Tires previously announced that they are partnering with Top Fuel standout Salinas at several events on the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series schedule this year, including the Pep Boys NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pa., close to the Pep Boys headquarters in Philadelphia.

This partnership marks the first time that Pep Boys, a staple in American auto service for more than 100 years, has sponsored a driver in the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series.

The new Pep Boys store is located at 3073 Hwy 160w, Fort Mills, S.C. Salinas will be on hand for autographs this Thursday, April 28 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series competition for the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway begins on Friday, April 29 with the first round of Top Fuel qualifying scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
