You did in fact read the headline correctly. Rookie, if we can call him that, Troy Coughlin Jr. has decided to leave the seat of the SealMaster backed Kalitta Motorsports Top Fuel Dragster. 

In an press release posted on NHRA, TJ stated that he would like to get some more experience in the Top Alcohol Dragster ranks. It's been a rough rookie season for TJ, even though he is still sitting at 10th in the NHRA points standings. which is a feat in itself, whether you are a rookie or not. 

The Kalitta team has been supportive of TJ throughout the season, and is supportive of his decision regarding the Top Fuel Dragster. If you are a drag racing or motorsports fan, we don't need to tell you that TJ comes from one of the original families of drag racing. There aren't many with the Coughlin name that don't drag race. 

We are sure you will see TJ racing, and doing very well no matter what he is racing in. At this time, we are unsure who, if anyone will be taking over the seat in the SealMaster car. If and when we hear from Kalitta, we will let you know.
